Molar Volume

Source: Chemistry 10, Ch 15, pp. 16–18

📘Easy summary

At RTP (25 °C, 1 atm) one mole of any gas occupies 24 dm³ (molar volume) — follows from Avogadro's law (equal volumes contain equal numbers of molecules). Moles of gas = volume (dm³) / 24. Useful to find volumes of gases produced or used in reactions without weighing them.

⭐Key points

  • 1 mol = 6.02 × 10²³ particles.

🌿Real-life example

15 mol NH₃ = 360 dm³.

💡Exam tip

  • Use 24 dm³ (RTP), not 22.4.

✅Quick check

1. 18 dm³ CH₄ = ? mol
