📘Easy summary

Software is a set of instructions (programs) that tells hardware what to do. System software manages and controls hardware and provides a platform for other software, facilitating communication between hardware and software: operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android), utility programs, device drivers, BIOS/firmware. Application software performs specific tasks for users: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, browsers, games.
