Analog and Digital Signals

Source: CS 9, Unit 3, pp. 50–51

📘Easy summary

Analog signal: continuous, can take any value in a range (sound waves, temperature, old radio). Digital signal: discrete, only two levels 0 (low/off) and 1 (high/on). Digital systems are less affected by noise, easy to store/process/copy, and are used in computers. Digital logic is based on binary values and logic operations.

⭐Key points

  • Digital = discrete 0/1.
