📘Easy summary
Nervous coordination is the fast, precise control of body activities by nerve impulses. Its basic elements are: receptors (detect stimuli, e.g. eyes, ears, skin receptors), neurons and the CNS (carry and process messages), and effectors (muscles and glands that respond). The path of a message: stimulus → receptor → sensory neuron → CNS (inter-neurons) → motor neuron → effector → response.
⭐Key points
- Receptors detect stimuli.
- CNS processes.
- Effectors (muscles, glands) respond.

🌿Real-life example
Touching a hot plate: skin receptor → spinal cord → arm muscle pulls away.
💡Exam tip
- Effectors are muscles and glands.
